📍 1015 Harlem Ave, Glenview, IL 60025

A walk-up ice cream stand on Harlem Avenue that's been serving downtown Glenview since 1955 — fourth owner now, but still a family operation: siblings Chip Boedicker and Luane Gabuzzi have run it since their parents, Chuck and Janelle, bought it in 1991, and a sister runs a similar stand, Dairy Dream, up in Libertyville.

The menu is soft-serve basics done right — vanilla, chocolate, a vanilla-orange "Dreamsicle" twist, banana splits, classic cones — with the walk-up-window, no-seating-required feel that's basically the whole point of a dairy bar.

It's seasonal, typically running April through October, so this isn't a year-round stop, but for seven months a year it's exactly the kind of unpretentious local institution this site exists to flag.
