Francesca's Intimo

Super GemDowntown Lake Forest · Italian Community-sourced, unverified

📍 293 E Illinois Rd, Lake Forest, IL 60045

Francesca's Intimo opened in downtown Lake Forest in early 2001 as the 11th location of the Francesca's Restaurant Group — the same family behind the original Mia Francesca — and it brings that group's whole philosophy north: an informal, sophisticated trattoria serving quality rustic Italian cooking at genuinely fair prices, not a special-occasion splurge.

A 2001-opened Lake Forest outpost of the Francesca's Restaurant Group — rustic, approachable Italian trattoria cooking and a real weekend brunch.

The menu leans into approachable classics done well rather than chasing trends, and weekend brunch (Saturday and Sunday, 10 to 3) extends the appeal past dinner service.

It's not an independent Lake Forest original — it's a well-run regional group's outpost — but it fills the same reliable, casually elegant Italian niche the brand has built its reputation on across the Chicago area for more than two decades now.
