The Tavern's cult classic is a Tuesday-only jambalaya special that's become enough of a tradition that servers deliver it with its own running bit, a sign of how long it's been on rotation. The rest of the menu sticks to honest bar comfort food: post-work buffalo wings, a saucy meatloaf with mashed potatoes that pairs naturally with a pre-game round of pool on the house table, and a cinnamon-y peach cobbler for dessert.

It's the kind of place built for a long weeknight rather than a special occasion — the bar runs until midnight Monday through Thursday and the kitchen keeps pace right behind it, while weekends stretch later with a Saturday-Sunday brunch service running until 3pm.
