Flub A Dub Chub's opened in 2008, the dream of retired physician Sam Giarratano, who spotted a For Rent sign on Broadway and finally got to open the hot dog stand he'd always wanted -- run with his wife Rosemary and their two sons ever since.

The name comes from a children's book, and the vintage "Take Home A Treat" ice cream stand sign out front was a flea-market find by son Bryan that became one of the shop's signature fixtures. Customer-submitted hot dog fan art covers the walls of the small, subterranean space -- checkered tile, diner stools, genuinely warm service despite tight quarters at peak weekend hours. A seasonal outdoor cafe opens in warmer months, and the dog-friendly, kid-friendly setup makes this an easy family stop.

In 2024 it was inducted into the Vienna Beef Hot Dog Hall of Fame as the 152nd business to receive the honor.
