Eris Brewery and Cider House occupies one of the more striking rooms in Chicago beer, a 1910 former Masonic Temple that later served as a Korean church before Michelle Foik and Katy Pizza converted it in 2018 — original light fixtures and reclaimed-wood booths intact, the kind of architectural bones you can't build new.

The pairing of beer and cider on the same tap list isn't an afterthought: Foik spent roughly a decade at Goose Island, time at Revolution Brewing, and a stint at Virtue Cider before co-founding Eris, and NBC Chicago has called it the city's first female-owned taproom. The brewpub kitchen runs genuinely inclusive — meat dishes alongside vegan, vegetarian, pescatarian, and gluten-free options, with mussels and toast, loaded fries, and cheese curds among the shareable staples — and the house cider list sits on tap and on shelves across Chicagoland, not just in the building.
