This Streeterville location came soon after and added the chicken and breakfast sandwiches that now share equal billing with the donuts in the name itself. The fried chicken donut sandwich — chicken tender wedged into an actual glazed donut — started as an off-menu order that Food Network wrote up before it eventually earned a permanent spot.
Gluten-free donuts are fried in a completely separate fryer, not just labeled and hoped for the best, and vegan options (Maple Chai, Double Chocolate, Orange Olive Oil) round out the case. The shop now runs five locations around Chicagoland (Streeterville, Wrigleyville, Fulton Market, Willis Tower and Tinley Park), but this one still runs the full chicken-and-donuts combined menu the concept became known for, with a small covered outdoor patio for the rare visitor who doesn't just grab and go. It holds a 4.6 Yelp rating across nearly 1,600 reviews.
