Coffee, Cones, & Cabernet is downtown Geneva's dessert shop that refuses to make you choose between an espresso, a scoop of gelato and a glass of wine, and it's built on a very sweet inheritance.

A Dubai truffle and a Grand Cru hot chocolate, or a gelato panino on a warm croissant if it's summer.

The Third Street storefront was All Chocolate Kitchen, the shop run by Chef Alain Roby, a world-renowned pastry chef, author and three-time Guinness World Record holder whose life-size chocolate and sugar sculptures appeared on Food Network, TLC and Hallmark. The new owners still follow Roby's recipes, and his sculptures still fill the room, which makes it feel half cafe, half museum. The chocolate case is the draw: truffles in milk, dark and white, a famous pistachio-filled Dubai truffle, turtles, pralines, toffee and chocolate-covered everything from cherries to espresso beans. Gelato and sorbetto rotate in cups, cones, pints and quarts, and the kitchen turns it into affogato, a gelatoccino, root beer floats and a gelato panino pressed into a warm croissant.

The coffee bar runs from Grand Cru mochas to honey lavender and pistachio lattes, and there are individual pies, crème brûlées, cake pops and French doughnuts made from fried croissant dough. The cabernet part is real, too, with wine and cocktails for an evening dessert stop, plus paint-and-sip nights, fondue nights and wine-and-truffle tastings. Call ahead to reserve a table for groups.
