Chicago's Home of Chicken and Waffles opened on King Drive in Bronzeville in 2008, the original location for what owner Tonya Johnson and her husband Darnell have since grown into a real small empire: a second spot in Oak Park by 2010, a third in Evanston by 2013, and locations as far as Cleveland and Nashville since.

A fried chicken and waffle combo (choice of white/dark meat, sweet toppings from strawberry to pecan) from the Bronzeville original of a Black-owned soul food chain that's since grown to Oak Park, Evanston, Cleveland, and Nashville.
