The restaurant's co-owner and chef, Isaac 'Chef Wavy' Bradley, a Le Cordon Bleu-trained cook who'd helped build out a long list of other Chicago restaurants and was expanding into retail with a Meijer-bound 'Wavy's Soul Sauce' line, died in June 2026; the restaurant continues today under his business partner, Eric 'Rico' Nance. Sunday Funday Brunch is the signature draw for the daytime crowd — a $60, 21-and-over buffet running 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., paid at the door and non-refundable, which tells you this isn't a casual mimosa stop but a full production. It's a restaurant built around hospitality and celebration first, by people who clearly understand both — which makes its continued operation, even now, feel like exactly the right way to carry that forward.
