The original location sits a block from the National Museum of Mexican Art, right by the 18th Street Pink Line stop, with a patio decorated in a colorful mural and radish-themed wall art that nods to the restaurant's name -- five brothers, five radishes, 5 Rabanitos. That origin story is also why the menu doesn't play it safe: Sotelo grew up selling radishes with his four brothers around Guerrero before building a menu this wide-ranging.
The restaurant built years of catering relationships with the University of Chicago before opening a second, permanent Hyde Park location at 53rd and Kimbark to meet the demand directly.
