Jim James (Solo Acoustic)

Vic Theatre · Lakeview

About This Event

Jim James has spent the last two-plus decades as the falsetto-and-reverb voice of My Morning Jacket, the Louisville band that helped define a strand of early-2000s indie rock built on big, hazy, arena-scaled sound. Outside the band, James has kept a parallel solo career going since 2013's Regions of Light and Sound of God, using it for the quieter, more personal material the full band format doesn't always fit.

This stop is billed as solo acoustic — just James, his guitar, and whatever reverb he brings himself — a format that strips away the production and puts the songwriting and that unmistakable voice front and center.

Worth knowing: tickets originally went on sale through AXS; resale listings now start around $68, well above typical face value, so check the Vic Theatre's own listing first if you want a shot at a better price.
