Chicago Toy & Game Fair (ChiTAG)
About This Event
ChiTAG is the largest consumer toy and game fair in North America — two days of hands-on demos with next year's holiday toys before they ever reach a store shelf, run out of the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont rather than downtown.
It started with one woman noticing a gap. Mary Couzin, a toy-industry veteran, went to Germany's Essen Game Fair and saw something the U.S. didn't have yet: a public toy and game show built for families, not just industry buyers and hobbyists. She launched the Chicago Toy & Game Fair in 2003 as the first non-hobby toy and game fair aimed at families in North America, and it's grown steadily since — adding an inventor conference in 2006, industry awards in 2008, and its own philanthropic foundation in 2011.
Worth knowing before you go: it's out in Rosemont, not downtown, so budget extra drive time if you're coming from the city. This year's 'Wishlist Weekend' theme leans into Star Wars' 50th anniversary, and tickets are sold via Eventbrite with pricing still to be announced as of this writing.
